Zambia came from behind to beat South Africa 1-2 to qualify for the final of the Cosafa Cup on Friday.

Bafana Bafana took the lead in the first half through Tshegofatso in the 44th minute. The first stanza ended with the hosts leading.

In the second half, the Chipolopolo came firing, and five minutes later, Golden Mashata slotted home the equalizing goal.

The defending champions kept building pressure on the South African defense, and it soon paid off when they won a free kick just outside the 18-yard box.

Red Arrows striker Albert Kangwanda stepped up and made no mistake to beat Mzimela in the far right corner and put the Chipolopolo in the lead in the 69th minute.

Kangwanda’s goal was his third of the tournament, and it was enough to put the match to bed at 1-2. He has scored in all three of his last three Cosafa Cup matches to lead the scorers’ table.

Zambia will now face Lesotho in the final on Sunday. They will attempt to defend and win the championship for the seventh time.

Last year, the Chipolopolo won the Cosafa Cup after defeating Namibia 1-0, thanks to a Kangwanda long-range shot that was deflected into the net.
