Zambian players abroad weekend wrap| Emmanuel Banda top scorers list

Daka played for Leicester, starting with Jamie Vardy against Chelsea, while Banda was the standout Zambian player abroad this weekend.

Emmanuel Banda was on the scoresheet for Saudi First Division side Al Tai in their 4-1 walloping of Al Safa on Saturday, also registering two assists. He became the fourth foreign-based Chipolopolo player to score at least five league goals this season after Kings Kangwa, Fashion Sakala, and Songa Chipyoka.

In England, Patson Daka earned a starting berth for Leicester City as they fell 1-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday. Meanwhile, Lameck Banda took to the pitch as an 82nd-minute substitute against AC Milan, making his first appearance in four months.

Elsewhere, Kingstone Mutandwa returned from injury, making Cagliari’s bench in their stalemate with Genoa.

Chaiwa and Sabobo clash in Switzerland

In the Swiss Promotion League, both Miguel Chaiwa and Joseph Sabobo Banda played the full match as Young Boys II and FC Zurich II locked horns. Edging Sabobo’s side 1-0, Chaiwa’s Young Boys II came out on top.

1.FC Magdeburg settled for a frustrating 1-1 draw against Fürth in the Bundesliga 2, fielding Lubambo Musonda for the first 75 minutes. They are currently a point short of the promotion spots after 25 matches. On Friday, Fashion Sakala started for Al Fayha, who lost 2-0 to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

Ghampani starts vs. Orlando Pirates, Kampamba’s Al Madina strike late again

Al Merrikh registered a 1-0 win against Garde Nationale in the Mauritanian league, with Obino Chisala delivering the cross that led to the goal. Chisala clocked 86 minutes in the game, while Ricky Banda appeared from the bench in the 58th minute. Elsewhere, Ghampani Lungu played the first 45 minutes for Supersport United as they bowed out of the Nedbank Cup after losing to Orlando Pirates on penalties.

In Libya, Kelvin Kampamba came off the bench in the second half, helping Al Madina score a 95th-minute equalizer. Meanwhile, in Liga Leumit, Songa Chipyoka made the starting XI for Hapoel Petah Tikva, who beat Ramat Hasharon 1-0.

Chilufya features for Midtjylland, Liteta makes appearance in Italy

Edward Chilufya was summoned from the bench in the 74th minute, taking part in Midtjylland’s 4-1 drubbing of Aalborg. In the Primavera 1, Joseph Liteta played the last half hour for Cagliari U20 against Roma U20.

Cadiz B started Peter Chikola in their 1-1 draw with CDA Aguillas and introduced Twizard Mulenga from the bench.

Frankie benched, Benson Sakala and Mwepu return

Frankie Musonda was on Ayr United’s bench for their encounter against Greenock Morton but did not participate in the match. In the Czech Republic, Benson Sakala was an unused substitute returning from an injury that has kept him out of action for a month.

Francisco Mwepu made the matchday squad for Cadiz, watching their 2-0 win against Malaga from the sideline.

Golden Mafwenta started in a club friendly for Metalist 1925 while Ricky Chanda started for FC Nõmme United, who registered a 2-1 win in the Estonian second tier.
