Edward Chilufya ended his campaign on a high note, netting a brace from the bench to guide Midtjylland to a dramatic 3-2 comeback win against Randers FC. With his side trailing 2-1, he was substituted on in the 75th minute and scored the equalizer nine minutes later from a remarkably acute angle.

The Chipolopolo striker was then set through on goal in the 90th minute before casually rounding the goalkeeper and finishing from a similar position. Midtjylland fell short of the Danish SuperLiga title by a point while Chilufya finished the season on six goals and six assists.

Elsewhere, Joshua Mutale was crowned Man of the Match in the CAF Confederations Cup final after finding the back of the net for Simba SC against RS Berkane. His efforts, however, proved futile as the Tanzanian giants lost 3-1 on aggregate, finishing as runners-up.

Kings Kangwa ends season with goal, Barbra Banda bags first hat-trick for Orlando Pride

In Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s 5-0 walloping of Hapoel Haifa, Kings Kangwa scored his 14th league goal of the season. The midfielder, who also has nine assists in 35 games, missed out on a winners’ medal as his side finished second in the league.

However, Kangwa still has a shot at silverware with Hapoel Be’er Sheva set to take on Beitar Jerusalem in the State Cup final. Meanwhile, Racheal Nachula started for Hapoel Jerusalem in the women’s State Cup final, which they lost 1-0 to Kiryat Gat.

In the United States, Barbra Banda scored the first-ever hat-trick for Orlando Pride in National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) history in a 3-1 win against Utah Royals. Prisca Chilufya was an unfielded substitute, while Grace Chanda did not feature.

Lameck Banda’s Lecce survive relegation, Mutandwa features in Napoli’s title-winning match

Lameck Banda remained on the substitute bench as US Lecce posted a shocking 1-0 win against Lazio in a must-win encounter to secure their topflight status. At the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, Kingstone Mutandwa, who played the last half hour, witnessed Napoli being crowned Italian Serie A champions ahead of Inter Milan.

In England, Patson Daka played the first 72 minutes of Leicester City’s 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on the final matchday. Elsewhere, Racheal Kundananji registered an assist in Bay FC’s 2-2 draw at Houston Dash, unselfishly teeing up Rachel Hill.

Emmanuel Banda denied Saudi Pro League promotion, Ricky Chanda notches assist and cleansheet in Estonia

Emmanuel Banda clocked 73 minutes in Al Tai’s 1-0 defeat to Al Hazem in the Saudi Pro League promotion playoff semifinals. Meanwhile, Aime Mabika started in defence for Rhode Island, who fell 1-0 to Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL Championship.

In Estonia, Ricky Chanda was influential for Nomme United both defensively and attacking-wise in a 3-0 victory over FC Levadia U21. The defender delivered a delightful cross from the right wing to set up Egert Ounapuu while keeping a clean sheet.

On the African continent, Obino Chisala played the first half of Al Merrikh’s barren stalemate with AS Pompiers in the Mauritanian Super D1.

Mupopo becomes a Champions League winner, Chaiwa ends season on the bench

Miguel Chaiwa watched BSC Young Boys 1-1 draw with FC Lugano from the substitute bench as they settled for UEFA Europa League qualification. Likewise, Benson Sakala and Golden Mafwenta did not take to the field for Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic and Metalist 1925 in Ukraine, respectively.

Kabange Mupopo‘s former club, Wuhan Jiangda, beat Melbourne City in a penalty shootout to win the AFC Women’s Champions League on Saturday. The Copper Queens’ star, who contributed two goals and an assist in the competition before moving to Henan, will likely receive a winner’s medal.

Meanwhile, in Georgia, Frank Chileshe started for  Lokomotivi Tbilisi, who lost 2-1 to FC Rustavi 2-1.
