Zambia’s international friendly match against Sudan is unlikely to take place due to Sudan’s failure to travel to Morocco, where the match was scheduled to be played, Bolanews has learnt.

The Chipolopolo boys were set to face Sudan on June 6th in an international friendly before taking on Tunisia on June 10.

Zambia is preparing for its upcoming Group E FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Morocco in September.

However, a BolaNews source revealed that Sudan will not be available for the match due to unresolved travel logistics.

“There was a friendly match scheduled between Sudan and Zambia in Morocco on June 6, but the Sudanese national team will cancel its camp,” the source said.

“There was no announcement of travel and the team did not assemble at all. The Sudanese FA have not said anything as they are busy with the elections,” noted the source.

The Chipolopolo boys are now expected to play just one international friendly match—against Tunisia during this international window.

Meanwhile, both the Football Association of Zambia and the Sudanese Federation have yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Bolanews’ attempts to obtain a comment from either party were unsuccessful at the time of publication.
