Zambia U-20 midfielder Songa Chipyoka is set to sign with a new club in Israel following the relegation of Sektzia Ness Ziona from the Israeli National League.

Chipyoka had a successful loan spell with the team, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists.

Despite his club’s relegation, he views his debut season in Israel as the most exciting experience of his football journey.

“Playing my debut season in Israel was the most exciting experience I’ve ever had. The only challenges were the language barrier, the culture, and the weather, but I think I adapted well,” Chipyoka said in an exclusive interview with Bolanews.

Currently in Israel and awaiting Zesco United’s approval for his new deal, Chipyoka couldn’t hide his joy over his successful season.

“It’s sad after a beautiful season the team was relegated. I think last season was my best season individually, scoring and assisting. As a team, we had a good season, but unfortunately, the playoffs didn’t go our way.”

Chipyoka sees his debut season as a significant step in the right direction and hopes for a similar experience in the upcoming campaign, regardless of where he plays.

“It’s going to impact me positively and I wouldn’t want to be in the same situation again. I know I can score goals and assist, so it’s a big motivation to try and do even more than I did last season,”he said.

Looking ahead, Chipyoka aims to score more goals and provide more assists for his new team.

“As a forward player, my goals will always be similar. I want to score more and assist more compared to what I did last season. There must be a difference. I plan to improve in areas where I didn’t do well and perfect the areas where I excelled.”
