Newly signed Zambian winger Pascal Phiri says he chose Pyramids FC despite receiving multiple offers, citing the club’s long-term project as a key factor in his decision.
The former Zesco United player has joined the Egyptian side on a three-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
Phiri earned widespread interest after impressing during his time with Zesco United in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The highly rated winger was also part of the Chipolopolo squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, although he did not feature and remained an unused substitute.

Speaking to BolaNews in an exclusive interview, Phiri said his focus is on making an impact at the Egyptian club.
“I want to help the Club do better and score goals and provide more assists since that’s my job; that is the reason why I am here. And I will make sure I deliver and put in a good performance,” he said.
“The reason I joined Pyramids is because this is a big team, so if I play well and work hard, I may not stay long here at the Club; I may end up finding myself in Europe,” added Phiri.
“I received a lot of offers, but I decided to settle for the Egyptian giants, and I will be playing in the senior team and not the junior team,” he concluded.
Pyramids, the defending CAF Champions League holders, currently top their group with seven points after three matches.
The Cairo-based side also sits second in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 27 points, five behind leaders Ceramica Cleopatra.
Pyramids will return to league action on Wednesday night when they face El Gouna in the Egyptian Premier League.
