Napsa Stars winger Augustine Mulenga says he is ready to play for the national team again if given a chance.
Mulenga last featured for the national team in 2021 during the COSAFA Cup tournament in South Africa. The well-travelled Zambian international rejoined Napsa Stars in 2025 on a one-year deal from Ama Zulu.
“I am still Zambian, and I will forever remain a Zambian. If the Zambia National Team gives me an opportunity to play for the National Team again, I will grab that opportunity wisely because I know what the National Team means to me,” he said.
Since returning to the pensioners, Mulenga has been impressive, with the Lusaka-based side benefiting from his experience and skill. The former Orlando Pirates winger has so far featured in 11 matches, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
“I know and believe that if the coach can give me an opportunity again, I can use it wisely because I know what the national team demands, and I will just continue working extra hard and do well with my club, and I am sure the national team coach always watches our games. If he gives me the chance, I will go there and represent the nation,” noted Mulenga.
Mulenga made his national team debut on 26 March 2017 in a friendly match against Zimbabwe.
