Power Dynamos coach Oswald Mutapa has described Group A of the CAF Champions League as “a group of big boys”, adding that his team belongs in that category after being drawn among Africa’s elite clubs.
Power will face defending Champions FC Pyramids of Egypt, Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane of Morocco, and Nigeria’s Rivers United.
Reacting to the draw, Mutapa described the group as tough but bragged that that’s where his team belongs.
“Yes, everyone has seen the group. It’s a tough group, playing the champions of the Champions League and the champions of the Confederation Cup,” Mutapa said when he dated the media after the draw.
Mutapa also branded Rivers United as a tough side.
“Also, playing Rivers United of Nigeria, who at one time played in the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup, so not an easy group; [it is] a group of big boys and we are equally big boys because we are in that group,” Mutapa said.
Mutapa’s side justified their status as a top side, having defeated Asec Mimosas of the Ivory Coast and Vipers SC of Uganda to reach the group stage for the first time.
