The 2022/23 season will go down as one of the best football seasons, for Zambian forward Kennedy Musonda having helped two sides Power Dynamos and Young Africans (Yanga football club) win league titles in their respective countries.

Musonda played for Power Dynamos during the first half of the season and scored 15 goals for the Kitwe-based team to win a seventh league championship, last weekend.

And yesterday, Yanga FC, a team that Musonda joined in January of this year, won Tanzania’s NBC Premier League for the 29th time in history and for the second consecutive season.

Musonda scored the opening goal as Yanga defeated Dodoma 4-2 to clinch the league title.

Yanga have 74 points; seven points clear of second-placed rivals Simba who beat Ruvu shooting 3-0 on Friday.

And after Kennedy Musonda took to social media and give glory to God “It’s all for your glory Lord. May I only hear what you have to say,” he wrote on Instagram.

Simba FC will join Yanga in representing the East African nation, Tanzania in the CAF champions league next season.

As stated earlier, the Young African sports club is the most decorated team of all time in Tanzania. The club won its first premier league title in 1968. And later went on to win 5 consecutive league titles before losing it to Simba FC, which dominated the league from 1976 to 1980.

The young African sports club has also won 3 premier titles in three consecutive seasons in 2015, 2016, and 2017. And they had back-to-back wins on three different occasions. In total, this football club has won 27 premier league titles and 4 domestic cups.
