The race to the 2024 Paris Olympics is getting heated with only four teams remaining for three slots.
The 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which is being used as the qualifier for the Olympics has now reached the semifinals with Morocco, Guinea, Egypt, and Mali still in contention.
Defending Champions Egypt will face Guinea in the first semifinal, while Morocco battles Mali on Tuesday.
The four teams are eyeing the three available slots for Africa at the Paris Olympic Games.
The two finalists and bronze medalists at the competition will earn qualification for the Olympics.
Egypt have collected seven points from a possible nine, scoring three goals, and did not concede any goal. They will be confident of grabbing one of the Olympic slots.
Just like Egypt, Morocco are also unbeaten in the competition, having won all three matches, scoring 8 and conceding only 2 goals.
Mali, on the other hand, have had a good run winning two and only losing one game to secure a place in the knockout stage with six points.
Guinea managed to win one game, drew one, and lost one game to qualify with four points.
All four will look to write history by qualifying for the global multisport showpiece.

Nigeria and Cameroon are the only African teams in history to win an Olympic Gold medal in 1996 and 2000 respectively.
