The Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts has released the full program for next week’s National Football Indaba, a major two-day gathering designed to confront what officials describe as the declining standards of Zambian football.
The meeting, scheduled for 1–2 December 2025 at the Zambia Italian Cultural Centre in Lusaka, will bring together government leaders, football administrators, international bodies, private-sector sponsors, and former players.
The Indaba aims to address a range of long-standing challenges, from inconsistent governance and inadequate youth structures to funding gaps and declining competitiveness at both club and national-team levels.
According to the program seen by Bolanews, the event will open on Monday with remarks from senior government officials, including the Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sport, Kangwa Chileshe, and the Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa.

FAZ President Keith Mweemba will present a new Football Development Vision and Roadmap, expected to outline structural reforms and long-term priorities for the game. The opening day will also see the signing of an MoU between the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) and the Football Association of Zambia.
Representatives from FIFA and CAF will deliver briefings on global standards and regional strategies for sustainable football development, while local experts will examine historical trends and current gaps. The NSCZ will also unveil the findings of the 2025 National Football Development Survey, which assesses the state of football across the country.

The second day of the Indaba will be dedicated to group-based policy discussions and presentations.

These sessions are expected to produce concrete recommendations, which will be formally presented as the Indaba Resolutions during the closing ceremony.
