Black Rhinos vice captain and defender Tatenda Mchisa is bullish ahead of their encounter against Chicken Inn in the Chibuku Super Cup, a match scheduled to be played at Luveve on Saturday at 0100 p.m.
The army side is motivated after registering a win against Manica Diamonds in their last league encounter on Sunday.
A win tomorrow will see them book a ticket to the semi-final.
Last year, Rhinos dumped Chicken Inn out through penalties after playing to a goalless draw. They would be hoping to replicate that same feat this time around.
Chipembere have so far had a poor outing in the league, but they have managed to have a good say in the Chibuku Cup and have already knocked out Cranborne and Manica Diamonds to book a place in the quarterfinals.
“I would say so far, so good, but there’s still more work to be done. We are prepared to go and play to win the game. All preparations have been going well, and the mood in the camp is jovial,” said Mchisa.
“We have to keep pushing as a team and try to grind results. Winning games at this point will definitely change the complexity of the game for us, which is necessary going forward as a team both in the cup games and the league.
“So we will work hard to make sure we have a water-tight defense that won’t give them a chance to penetrate us, which will give us an edge.
Mchisa on the league and cup games difference
“Playing cup games is a bit different compared to league games,” he said. “But I believe the objective for us remains the same. To win as many games as we can and see what happens.”
“We have been struggling in the league but I guess the win against Manica is a good motivation for us.
“We want to win as many games as we can in all the competitions. If we win on Saturday it means winning two more games in the cup will see us being crowned champions and that will mean we have to work for it,” he said.
In other matches, FC Platinum will be hosting Dynamos at Mandava on Saturday.
Ngezi Platinum will be facing Herentals and Highlanders will be hosting CAPS United at Barbourfields on Sunday.
