With only four league matches remaining after 26 games played so far, the race for the Malawian Super league title could go to the wire, as goals separate leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets from rivals Mighty Wanderers.
Bullets are leading the table with 56 points, with Wanderers coming second with the same number of points and games played.
Bullets sit on top with a 36-goal difference, as Wanderers come second with a 28-goal difference.
After staying on top for close to three months, Wanderers missed an opportunity to lift the title following a defeat to Mzuzu City Hammers last week.
Bullets had lost confidence in winning the league after facing a huge struggle; they have five defeats and two draws but capitalized on Wanderers’ dismal performance, which saw them registering 8 draws and a defeat.
Bob Mpinganjira was given targets to guide Bullets to lift the league and FDH Bank Cup but lost the Cup to Silver Strikers.
The last time Wanderers won the league was in 2017, and since then, they have come close to winning but always ended in heartbreak.

Mpinganjira says they will focus on the remaining games to collect all points so that they win the league after a long wait.
Bullets have dominated the Malawi league; they last won it in 2023, winning it five times in a row before losing it to Silver Strikers last year.
Silver Strikers are now third with 53 points from 25 games.
