Young Nkwazi Football Club defeated Imena Golden Stars 9-0 to clinch their spot in the 2025 ABSA Cup.
The Katete based side produced the highest score in the National Provincial FAZ Division One League’s history.

Young Nkwazi defeated Imena Golden Stars team at Petauke Day School Ground thanks to a hat-trick from Felix Chibale, a brace from Kamanga, a goal from team captain Harrison Singoyi, and a hat-trick from Speed attacker Elias Mwale.
All three teams had 33 points going into Saturday’s game, therefore Young Nkwazi needed to score at least seven goals to have a chance of overtaking Mika Football Club and Chipata City Council.
Chipata City Council FC’s 1-1 draw with Mambwe Council FC eliminated them from the ABSA Cup competition.

Mika Football Club’s 5-1 win over South Luangwa was not enough for them to qualify.
Provincial teams leading the table by mid season do qualify for ABSA Cup competition.
Young Nkwazi football club finished the first round of the season on top with 36 points after playing 17 games.
