The Super Falcons are on the verge of progressing to the round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
After a 0-0 draw with Canada and a 2-3 victory over co-host Australia, Nigeria just needs a point to progress.
The team’s head coach, Randy Waldrum has said despite his team’s lack of recognition, they are better than their FIFA ranking of 40.
“The Super Falcons have been undervalued and underappreciated; We ought to be ranked above 40 on FIFA rankings,” he said.
Waldrum believes the Super Falcons should be rated among the best in the World. He is confident his side will progress to the last 16 at the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie credited their success in the last two games to two years of hard work.
“We have been building this entire time. So when we came to Australia, we felt very confident. We had a game plan and all we had to do was to execute it,” she explained.
“Since our efforts and labor have paid off, the public shouldn’t be shocked by our success.”
If the Super Falcon defeat or draw against Ireland tomorrow, they will progress to the round of 16.
