Before the 2023–24 season kicks off, Tanzanian topflight giants, Simba SC has introduced their new additions to the squad.
Last year, Simba did not win any trophy as they lost the League championship to Young Africans (Yanga F.C.).
Simba has recruited Che Malone from Coton Sports F.C, Aubin Kramo from ASEC Mimosas, Willy Essomba Onana from Rayon Sports F.C, David Kameta from Mtibwa Sugar, Fabrice Ngoma from Al-Hilal Club, Idd Chilunda, Abdallah Hamisi and Hussein Kazi.
However, Zambian international Clatous Chama, who is anticipated to continue playing a crucial part for Simba, has advised his side not to think that the new additions will result in the squad winning titles.
“The players that have been added to our squad, the quality is good, but remember the past season we had the best squad at Simba, and we lost in the Champions League quarterfinal stage, we never even went to the Group stages,” Chama said in an interview with far-post.co.za.
Chama insisted that the quality of the players signed should be able to reflect on the pitch and not only on paper.
“The new guys, together with the old guys, should come to the party and push for what’s best for the team. Both on the field and within the team, quality should be evident,” he said.
Chama targets League double
Chama added that their major target this coming season is to win the league title which they failed to win last season.
“The first is the league because that’s the one we consider the most. Obviously, we have to look forward to CAF champions League. We are always getting out after the semifinals, and we want to go further this time.” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chipolopolo player has remained hopeful that the Dar-es-salaam-based side will be able to compete favorably in the newly introduced competition the African Super League.

“We have got the Super League that we are in for the first time, it will be nice to do well there also. I know we are capable of this………..It’s just a matter of us uniting and pushing for all those things,” he said.
Currently, Simba football club has two Zambian players in their books with Moses Phiri being one of them.
