Inter Milan defeated AC Milan 1-0 on Tuesday night to advance to the UEFA Champions League final with a 3-0 aggregate score.
Argentinian forward Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal in the 74th minute to seal his side’s spot in the final.
Inter Milan makes a return to the Champions League final for the first time since 2010.
They will now aim for a fourth Champions League title having been crowned European Champions on three occasions in 1964, 1965, 2010.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan manager, Simone Inzaghi described the victory as a dream come true.
“We will only fully realize what we have done in the days to come. It’s a dream come true. We always believed we could do it, we have had an extraordinary journey,” said Inzaghi.
Inter will either face Real Madrid or Manchester City on 10th June in the final in Istanbul.
Inzaghi said he will watch tonight’s second semifinal between City and Madrid with keen interest as they wait to know who they will play in the final.
“They are obviously two of the best teams in Europe. The first match balanced well. I will be watching the match with a great, great deal of interest,” noted the former AC Milan player.
City and defending Champions Real Madrid lock horns at Etihad Stadium for the second spot in the Champions League final.
The two drew 1-1 in the first leg played at Santiago Benerbau in Madrid last and all is up for grabs tonight.
