Patson Daka is one of the stars Leicester City could lose this summer should they suffer relegation from the Premier League.

It’s been an absolute nightmare of a season for Midlands outfit, Leicester City in the English top flight this season.

They currently sit 19th in the league standings on 30 points, with only 2 games left to save themselves.

Nobody could have imagined that a side that won the Premier League just seven years ago could be battling for survival at the other end of the log.

Even under Brendan Rogers, Leicester City maintained their status as a top-half club, finishing fifth in the two previous campaigns.

However, things turned for the worst this season, with Rogers eventually losing his job. His replacement, Dean Smith, hasn’t had any better luck, winning only one game since taking over and losing three.

Maybe Leicester City’s transfer approach of selling key players for lucrative deals is finally catching up with them.

Stars like Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante, Harry Maguire, Ben Chillwell, and Fofana have been cashed out over the years, and finding ideal replacements hasn’t been easy.

Looking at the state of affairs right now, Leicester City are set to lose more stars this summer with Tielemans, Maddison, Daka, and co. being linked to moves elsewhere.

‘He should stay at Leicester City and bounce back with them’

Zambian marksman Patson Daka has, however, been advised to shun a transfer away from Leicester City even after relegation.

The goal-poacher has been told to stay and fight for a starting role at Leicester City, to guide them back to the Premier League should they depart.

A Twitter user, @thfc_nkumbu, wrote, “If Leicester go down, as it is looking very likely, then I’d like Patson Daka to stay. Hold down that position and hopefully come back with them to the Premier League. Championship is actually a very decent place to develop a PL striker. Check: Toney, Mitrovic, Watkins, Solanke.”

Daka might tear up the championship

Another Twitter user,@mos3sjt, wrote, “Always knew that was the wrong move for Patson Daka. He might tear it up in the championship though.”

@mufc_red_army_ also tweeted, “Don’t know why, but I’d really love us to get patson daka!”

Leicester players I would have in the Spurs squad:

James Maddison (starting)
Harvey Barnes (starting if Son leaves)
Youri Tielemans
Wout Faes
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Ricardo Pereira
Patson Daka

Have I missed any?

We should be all over Patson Daka as and when Leicester drop. He’d do well here.

Daka previously linked with a move

Daka was linked with a move to Turkish club Galatasaray back in February amid other transfer options. The Zambian forward could be on the move this summer.

In spite of this, many hopefuls believe that staying at Leicester City would be the best option for him as he could test himself in the Championship.

As mentioned earlier, forwards like Toney and Mitrovic failed to establish themselves in the Premier League until they went to the Championship and came back fully baked.

Leicester City acquired Patson Daka in 2021 from Red Bull Salzburg for a deal worth €30 million.

The Copper Bullet has managed 15 goals for the club, including a record six in European competitions.
