Forgotten Copper Queens goalkeeper Ngambo Musole has returned to active football after a one-year absence.

She has joined COSAFA women’s champions Green Buffaloes WFC on an undisclosed long-term contract.

I am happy to be back and I am sure my experience will help Buffaloes. I know most of the players here and I will easily adapt.

Ngambo said.

She was unveiled today together with the Zimbabwean trio of winger Alice Moyo, defender Catherine Gwangwara, and striker Bethel Kondo.

The Zimbabwean girls have signed one-year contracts with the Zambian champions from Faith Drive Queens Academy.

Ngambo who represented Zambia at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics was out due to family commitments.

She drew the attention of coach Bruce Mwape in 2021 after appearing in 16 games for Zesco Ndola Girls FC and conceding only five (5) goals, making her the only goalkeeper in Zambia’s women’s league with more clean sheets (11) that season.

Ngambo was later handed a national team call-up, which saw her play at the Olympics as second-choice goalkeeper to Turkish-based shotstopper Hazel Nali.

The 2021 COSAFA Women’s championship golden gloves winner also missed the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. This was due to the same family commitments for which she was excused from the team, BolaNews understands.

She will now look to regain her place in the national team while playing for Bufalloes in the Zambian League.
