Buildcon defeated Nchanga Rangers 2-0 at the trade fair grounds to earn their first victory of the season.
Team Kopala only needed goals from Jonathan Manongo and Lionel Bong in the second half to secure their first three points in the 2022–23 Zambian Super League.
Their victory meant, Aggrey Chiyangi, the new coach at Nchanga Rangers, began his tenure at the Chingola-based team with a loss.
POWER DYNAMOS DROP POINTS AT HOME
League Leaders Power dynamos maintained the top spot in the League despite dropping points at home this afternoon against Nkwazi.
Wezzy Kumwenda opened the scoring for the police outfit in the 32nd minute before Linos Makwaza Jr. equalized for the home side in the second half to end the match 1-1.
Dynamos are still atop the league with 36 points.
NAPSA STARS THUMP AIRMEN, ZANACO WIN AND SIKAZWE KISS GOODBYE TO THE WHISTLE
Napsa Stars started the second half of the season on a high note after defeating the defending champions, Red Arrows, 3-1 at the Heroes stadium.
The pensioners scored through Simon Nkhata, Musonda Kapembwe, and Augustine Mulenga, while the Airmen found the back of the net through Sadam Phiri who scored from the spot, a match that was officiated by retired referee Janny Sikazwe as his farewell match.
In an early kickoff at the same venue, Zanaco defeated Chambishi 2-0 to move into the top four brackets with 28 points.
The Bankers scored the two goals through Abraham Siankombo and Charles Zulu.
ZESCO HELD BY LEOPARDS
At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Zesco United played to a 1-1 draw against Prison Leopards to drop to 12th position with 22 points while their visitors now sit in 8th position with 28 points.
Adrian Chama gave Zesco United the lead in the 48th minute when he converted from the spot, but the Correct Boys equalized in the 72nd minute through Damiano Kola.
EAGLES LOSE AT HOME
Green Eagles recorded a rare home defeat when they lost 1-3 to Lumwana Radiants. The visiting side scored through Dina Dinanga, Joseph Chanda, and Pheuzzy Chibandika while the home side’s only goal came through Derrick Bulaya.
Eagles now sit 7th in the league standings with 27 points while Radiants are 13th with 21 points after week 18.
KANSANSHI AND RANGERS DRAW
Kansanshi Dynamos drew 2-2 with Forest Rangers. Jessy Were and Djo Ntembwe were on target for the Mabanga boys, while Moro Ameun and Eric Chomba scored for the Rangers.
Rangers are now second in the league standings with 30 points while Dynamos are 10th with 21 points after this weekend’s action.
