After finishing fourth last season and some key players leaving prior to the new season, Kabwe Warriors Chief Executive Officer Chilombo Chabwe believes duplicating last season’s fate will be challenging as the club is rebuilding a new team.
The People’s Magnificent team Kabwe-based side registered a mass departure of their key players.
On Wednesday, Kabwe Warriors played a friendly match against the Makeni All Stars, settling for a goalless draw as part of their pre-season preparations.
The Kabwe based side will compete in stream B of the 2026 Transition League.
Speaking to Bolanews in an exclusive interview, Club CEO Chilombo Chabwe said the club has still maintained their same objectives.
“Our objectives remain the same: to bring the league championship to Kabwe. To play in the CAF Club competition. To maintain the team amongst the elite in the country and always compete at the highest level,” he said.
“It will be quite a challenge to replicate last season’s performance since we have made a lot of changes to the team. But we believe the new signings will take up the challenge and put up a good fight to finish the season decently,” added the CEO.
Meanwhile, Kabwe Warriors will face Zesco United at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium in their opening match.
