Thomas Nyirenda, former Power Dynamos midfielder, has revealed that midfielder Owen Tembo reminds him of his playing days.
Nyirenda featured for Zanaco Football Club, Power Dynamos, and Konkola Blades in the Zambian league, in addition to stints in the Mozambican league.
He also featured for the Chipolopolo Boys at the 2010 Africa Cup in Angola.
In an interview, Nyirenda stated that Tembo is one of the best players in the midfield position.
“Owen Tembo reminds me of my playing days; at least he is playing in the way that we used to play. He’s doing a great job in the midfield,” he said.
He added that Power Dynamos can go far in the CAF Champions League if they maintain the squad.

“At the moment they are looking very good, but it would be good for them to stay together for a long time together with head coach Oswald Mutapa,” he said.
“Power Dynamos, unlike other teams, has demonstrated that it has some goal scorers, with Moses Shumah leading, but when he doesn’t score, then other strikers are able to rise to the occasion.”
