Lameck Banda, head coach for Mufulira Wanderers, says his team is ready to take on his former side FC MUZA in the quarterfinals of the 2026 ABSA Cup Competition at Nkoloma stadium on Sunday.
The Legendary Club defeated Forest Myooye 2-0 to book a spot in the quarterfinals of the competition.
While FC MUZA beat Solwezi Mushitala Stars 4-3 on post-match penalties to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The Mazabuka-based side was eliminated by Kabwe Warriors in the 2024 edition and will be seeking to put up a better performance this season.
Speaking to journalists in a press conference ahead of the match, Banda declared his team ready for the tough encounter.
“Playing FC MUZA is something great, though it’s a tough game, but the most important thing is what we have set for ourselves, the plan that we have outlined. We know it’s not going to be an easy game, but we will try to win the game,” he said.

“Nothing much in terms of difference; we will just continue what we have been doing in the league because the game is just the same. All we have to do is have ourselves ready and we will be good to go,” noted Banda.
Meanwhile, FC MUZA’s Kelvin Mwanza issued a warning, declaring they are coming for their former coach when the two sides meet.
“It’s going to be tough when you meet your former coach; everyone wants to prove a point, but I think we all wait and see what happens tomorrow, but it’s going to be positive. The coach should watch out,” said the captain.
