FC MUZA suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Zambian Premier League after going down 1-0 to Red Arrows at Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday.

After losing to Mufulira Wanderers 1-0 at home last weekend, the Mazabuka-based team, who were at the top of the table just two weeks ago, dropped to fifth place.

Noel Phiri, the head coach, maintained that his team had a chance to win the game despite the defeat.

“The game wasn’t that tough. We created a lot of scoring chances,” Phiri said.

Phiri admitted MUZA’s lack of finishing in front of goal has cost them in back-to-back games.

“You saw the game yourself; we created a lot of chances, but we couldn’t score. We just need to forge ahead.”

The coach stressed that sharpening the attacking line will be the priority in training ahead of their next fixtures.

“That’s what we are working on now. It’s good that we are creating chances—what is important now is to start scoring.”

Despite falling off the early pace, Phiri maintained confidence that FC MUZA can bounce back.

“The league has just begun; there are more games to come. As MUZA, we are determined and ready.”
