In a Week 4 MTN Super League match on Sunday, Zanaco’s head coach Numba Mumamba expressed disappointment after his team was held to a 1-1 draw by Nkwazi in the Lusaka derby at Sunset Stadium.
Two minutes before halftime, Christopher Zulu gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot, but Zanaco responded in the 76th minute when Eliya Mandanji scored from the spot to give the Bankers a point.
Despite saving a draw, Mumamba acknowledged that his team was lacking, especially in the midfield.
“Today for us is a very disappointing result because the team did not play the way they have been playing from the start of the season. Our midfield did not come to the part; we were very slow in midfield.”
The coach stressed that his side must make home advantage count if they are to meet their target of finishing in the top three by the halfway point of the season.

“Our objective at home is to maximize grabbing three points in every game that we play at home because these are the results that will help us finish in the top three by the halfway mark at least. We are happy getting a point.”
The Bankers’ first four games of the 2025–26 season have now resulted in two victories and two draws. With only three goals scored thus far, the team’s lack of firepower is still a worry.
“That is one of our concerns. I think in every game we are creating more than three chances, which is a worry on our part; we need to polish up our finishing.”
