With the transfer window closing on Thursday night across all top European leagues, Zambia’s Fashion Sakala seem stuck in Scotland as he continues to watch matches from the bench, having gone eight matches consecutively without playing this season before he was handed only two minutes in Rangers’ last match.

Sakala, who joined Rangers last season as a free agent under Steven Gerrard from Belgian side KV Oostende, has not found favor from the new coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst who reportedly described him as “raw” despite kicking off his journey in Scotland on a high with 12 goals and 7 assists in 51 matches across all competitions.

In his only appearance so far this season, Sakala was a late substitute for the Rangers side that booked a place in the UEFA champions league group stages for the first time in 12 years after beating PSV 0-1 to go through with a 3-2 aggregate score line.

The Zambian forward played the last two(2) minutes of the match and only managed to launch one attack in the dying minutes but was dispossessed to unfortunately end the match with only two touches.

Despite being linked with a move out of Scotland, the 25-year-old earlier told Daily records that rumors linking him with a loan move to French Ligue 1 club Auxerre as well as Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad in Spain were false.

Obviously, I am very happy to be here. All this talk about loans? I don’t think I can go on loan. I am not looking at loan moves,

There is no need for me to go on loan because my first season was not bad. I scored 12 goals in all competitions, and that was my adaptation season. Now I have to prepare myself to do better this season.

Sakala told the Daily Record in july

He has repeatedly rubbished rumors that he will be leaving as he said, he is focused on fighting for a place in the Rangers starting eleven and has promised his fans to double the number of goals he scored last season.

It remains to be seen if Sakala will accept any offers on the transfer window’s deadline day if at all there will be any or he will stay at Rangers to fight for his place in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s starting eleven.
