Liverpool Extend Lead as Leicester Cit’s Relegation Woes Deepen

Liverpool restored their 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a narrow 1-0 win over Everton, while Leicester City’s relegation fears grew deeper following a defeat to Manchester City.

Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to 12 points with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Everton at Anfield.

Diogo Jota’s second-half strike secured a hard-fought win for Liverpool in a tense Merseyside derby, as they edged past Everton 1-0. The victory restored the Reds’ momentum after Arsenal’s win over Fulham and reaffirmed their local dominance.

Everton threatened early, with Beto having a goal disallowed for offside and later striking the post. Liverpool, meanwhile, had a penalty appeal dismissed after James Tarkowski’s challenge on Alexis Mac Allister.

After a cagey first half, Liverpool took control in the second, with Jota winning possession high up the pitch, combining with Luis Diaz, and finishing clinically in the 57th minute. Despite Everton’s late substitutions, they failed to register a meaningful threat as Liverpool comfortably saw out the win.

Manchester City Cruise Past Leicester with Ease

Manchester City secured a comfortable win over Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, barely needing to break a sweat. First-half goals from Jack Grealish—his first Premier League strike in 15 months—and Omar Marmoush sealed the 0-2 victory.

City remain fourth in the table but could drop to fifth if Chelsea defeat Tottenham tonight. Meanwhile, Leicester’s struggles continue, with their seventh consecutive defeat leaving them 12 points from safety with just eight games remaining.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa cruised to a 3-0 victory over Brighton away from home, while Ipswich edged Bournemouth 2-1. Newcastle also secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Brentford.

In Tuesday’s other fixture, relegation-threatened Southampton battled to a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
