Napsa Stars Football Club had to grind out a tough 1-0 victory over Indeni Football Club in a Week 26 home fixture on Saturday.
Three minutes before the half-time whistle, Evans Kayombo scored the only goal of the encounter that gave the pensioneers a hard fought win.

Despite the struggle, head coach Sipho Mumbi was pleased to collect maximum points following their previous defeat to Red Arrows.
“What a scrappy win. Indeni made it hard for us to play our usual game, but what was important was to collect maximum points,” Mumbi said after the match.
The coach revealed that before kickoff, the team had discussed the importance of securing a win to regain confidence.
“I think it was very important. It’s something that we talked with the players. Mentally, we were a little bit defeated—we were coming from a loss last week,” he explained.

Mumbi acknowledged that Indeni had a well-executed game plan and gave his side a tough time throughout the match. However, he emphasized that securing the three points was the priority.
“I think Indeni had a good plan compared to us. We need to give credit to them, but at the end of the day, we needed three points. Whether we played well or bad, we just needed the three points,” he added.
The victory sees Napsa Stars return to winning ways as they shift focus to their next challenge in the league when they travel away to face Forest Rangers in the Copperbelt region.
