Thomas Mwambazi of Aguila Stars Football Club thinks his team could have finished higher than seventh in the National Division One League the previous season.
With 45 points, Aguila Stars ranked seventh, nine points behind Indeni Football Club, who took fourth place.
The team showed a lot of potential to finish in the top four, and Mwambazi tells BolaNews that they could have done so.
Mwambazi claims the team has gained valuable experience from playing in National Division One, which will enable them to contend successfully the next year.
“The just-ended season was quite eventful. We faced tough challenges, but we also had some memorable victories that we can be proud of,” Mwambazi said.
“I believe the club could have ended up in a better position. There were moments where we showed great potential, and with some adjustments, we could have achieved a higher standing.”
The 18-year-old states that he now wants to focus on improving his consistency and decision-making.
The former Under-17 national team attacker played as a center forward, left-winger, attacking midfielder, and defensive midfielder at the club.
“I feel I made progress towards my targets, but there’s always room for improvement. And I strive to continually grow and contribute more effectively to the team’s success,” he added.
Mwambazi, who has five goals to his credit, is concentrating on becoming a formidable attacker, therefore he is taking his time before making a decision.
