Zimbabwean Warriors striker Tino Kadewere has joined French Ligue 1 rivals Nantes on loan from Olympique Lyonnais until the end of the season.
The loan deal includes a purchase option, which will be automatically exercised if Nantes maintains their Ligue 1 status this season.
Kadewere had a poor season in the first half with Lyon.
He has made 11 appearances in the league so far, with zero contributions to goals and assists.
In the 11 appearances, he started just two matches and appeared in the other nine as a substitute.
Since his return from Mallorca in Spain, where his loan stint was unsuccessful last season due to an injury, Kadewere has seen his role reduced to small cameos and has failed to make the impact that saw him have 10 goals and three assists in his debut season at Lyon.
Since joining Lyon, Kadewere has failed to replicate his red-hot form at Le Havre, which saw him register a goal in every 103 minutes he played.
He managed to post an incredible 20 goals and four assists in 24 appearances for the club, which earned him a move to Lyon.
Despite Lyon starting slowly, they won all three of their last three games in a row for the first time this season.
But now Kadewere will be shifting focus to help Nantes improve their performances after amassing just four points in their last eight games.
Nantes is in position 13th, two places above Lyon, who are in 15th.
Kadewere will be hoping to stay fit to redeem himself once more, as Nantes sees him as an important player in their attacking unit.
