Copper Queens defender Pauline Zulu says playing for the Senior Women’s National Team is a huge inspiration and an honour.
The talented Elite Ladies FC defender, who has won over fans since her excellent performances at the 2023 Cosafa Cup, has described qualifying for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with the Copper Queens as a dream come true.
Last night, Zambia qualified for their third consecutive Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after thumping Angola 12-0 on aggregate following a 6-0 victory at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Zulu had a good game, keeping her second consecutive clean sheet as she marshaled the central defense alongside experienced Green Buffaloes defender, Lushomo Mweemba.
“It’s a dream come true”- Zulu
She tells Bolanews in an exclusive interview that the win in Ndola “means a lot and it’s a dream come true. It was also kind of a little bit difficult despite the win.”
Three weeks prior, Zulu told Bolanews she would do everything it took to be a first-team regular starter for the Copper Queens.
“I want to work hard to be part of the senior team and represent Zambia at the highest level in the upcoming tournaments,” she stated.
Zulu will be one of the top talents to look out for in Morocco next year during the 15th edition of the WAFCON, as the Copper Queens seek to go a step further than they did in 2022 after winning bronze.

After beating Angola 6-0 back-to-back across two legs, the Copper Queens for the first time this year, managed to keep two consecutive clean sheets.
