Dynamos FC coach Kelvin Kaindu hailed substitute midfielder Denver Mukamba for scoring the game-winning goal that prolonged the Glamour Boys’ comeback, calling Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Scotland FC a “big win.”
“We know that when we give a chance to Denver, it’s a game changer. He came in as a commander and gave us the winning goal,” Kaindu said after the match at Rufaro Stadium.
With the win, Dynamos moved up to 28 points in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and won four in a row. They are still in the relegation zone in 17th place despite the momentum.
After losing twice, Kaindu acknowledged that his team’s set-piece defense was worrisome, but he praised their ability to rally for three vital goals in response.
“It’s a big win for us” Kaindu.
“It’s unfortunate, maybe, the two goals that we conceded from the set pieces. I think they were just too easy for us to give away. But we fought for our goals, and for us to beat a team like Scotland, who have been winning continuously, shows that slowly we are gaining confidence“
“This win is not just an ordinary win. I think for the first time, we are moving slightly on the log standing. It’s a big win for us,” he said.
Kaindu stressed that avoiding a draw was crucial, with tactical adjustments and timely substitutions helping them edge the game.

“The worst thing that we can do is to draw. The best thing is to avoid conceding. We hadn’t conceded in the last few games, but today we conceded two. The good thing is we managed to score three goals, and that gives us an advantage in terms of scoring,” he added.
Kaindu thinks Dynamos’ renewed tenacity may yet propel them out of danger, even though the victory keeps them in the bottom four.
