Kelvin Kaindu, has continued on his impressive run at the helm at Hardrock Football Club in the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League.
Hardrock, who are featuring in their debut season, have amassed 31 points from 15 matches.
A brace from Washington Navaya and Samuel Makawa’s long-range strike were enough for the miners to collect maximum points over Simba Bhora in a Week 16 encounter played at the Chahwanda Stadium on Sunday.
Kaindu’s side have one match yet to be determined by the league’s disciplinary board following abandonment due to crowd control.
With a better goal difference of 17, Hardrock are ahead of Scottland FC and CAPS United, who also have 31 points.
In a post-match interview, the Zambian gaffer, Kaindu praised his players’ response to the pressure of the occasion after losing the log leadership after CAPS and Scottland posted positive results.
“It is a very important win for us. We hadn’t won in the last two games, and today we responded positively. Before kickoff we had slipped from our position on the log, but we reacted well, scoring three goals,” Kaindu stated.
“It shows the depth we have in the team. We made changes, and those who came in did very well. We saw the value of Navaya because we missed him in the last two games, and today he showed his impact.”
Kaindu maintained that survival remains the club’s primary target.
