Green Eagles record first home defeat

Green Eagles Football Club’s interim head coach Alex Namazaba recorded his first defeat since taking over in the acting capacity for the Choma based side that had managed to pull up back to back wins.

The Kawale Boys suffered a shocking loss at the hands of relegation embattled Chambishi Football Club who found the back of the net twice through striker Andy Boyele.

The defeat brought to an end 3 match winning streak for Green Eagles will Chambishi moved to 10 points with their second consecutive win in the 2022/23 Super League season.

Prison Leopards ends 3 match winless run, go second

Prison Leopards provided a perfect rebound from their disappointing one-nil defeat at the hands of Forest Rangers in Week 10 as they managed to beat FC MUZA by 2-1 in Mazabuka at the Nakambala Stadium.

The decisive goal came from the influential attacker Landu Miete who has proven to be the reliable source of goals for the Kabwe based side.

The result meant the Correct Boys were now trailing League leaders Red Arrows who drew 1-1 against Forest Rangers by 2 points while FC MUZA have failed to record a win in their last 3 matches – losing twice in that run.

Buildcon continue leaking

Ndola based side Buildcon Football Club has continued to be the most porous side defensively following a 3-2 defeat to Zesco United.

Team Koppala has now conceded 25 goals in just 11 matches while only finding the back of the net twice. They are by far the worst in defense; and to make matters in even worse, they are still in search of their first win of the season,

They have drawn twice and lost the rest of their matches in this campaign to sit rock bottom of the table with only two points.

James Chamanga celebrates late winner at Nkoloma stadium

Chamanga rescues a point for Red Arrows at home

James Chamanga’s 90th minute equalizer ensured Red Arrows got a point from their Week 11 clash against Forest Rangers at the Nkoloma stadium.

Libamba Moyela put the visiting side in the lead in the 66th minutes and the match played at Nkoloma stadium looked like it was ending in favour of the away side until Chamanga equalized.

With Power Dynamos losing 1-0 to Green Buffaloes at Arthur Davies stadium, Arrows will still continue topping the table despite recording two draws consecutively.

It ‘rained goals’!

19 goals were scored in the Zambian Super League week 11 with the Ndola derby between Zesco United and Buildcon accounting for 5 goals.

Andy Moyele of Chambishi FC accounted for two goals which helped his side to beat Green Eagles at their backyard in Choma.

There was only one barren draw recorded in Week 11 – a match which involved Nkwazi and Nkana at the Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.

The number of goals scored marked an improvement in goals scored compared to Week 10 were only 4 goals were scored.
