Meanwhile, Green Eagles football Club will be the fourth team to complete the teams that will be taking part in the tournament as part of preparation ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The Red Arrows football club, which won the last competition, hosted it in Lusaka.

However, according to the Zesco United Facebook official page Zesco United Chief Executive officer, Charles Kalala urged teams to use the tournament to assess their readiness ahead of the new season.

“The season ahead will be very competitive with the Zambian teams aiming to get back to continental football next season. As such this tournament provides the best platform for teams to assess themselves in readiness for the upcoming football season,” Kalala said.

Meanwhile, Zanaco football Club Chief Executive Officer Modest Hamalabi expressed happiness with the team’s participation in the tournament and believes it is an opportunity for the coach to try out the new signings.
