Zesco United interim head coach Emmanuel Siwale has refused to give up the title race despite his team’s 1-0 defeat to league leaders Power Dynamos on Sunday.
The loss widened the gap between Power and second-placed Zesco to six points with five games remaining in the MTN Zambian Super League.

However, Siwale insists the title race is far from over.
“No, we have five games to go, and no one has won the title yet because we don’t know what tomorrow might bring. This is football, so we will keep pushing.”
Speaking after the match, Siwale admitted that the result was disappointing, especially since his team performed well but failed to secure any points.
“It’s not a good result. We have dropped points. We wanted to win, we prepared very well, and the boys played very well.“
Zesco has struggled with converting chances in recent games, and Sunday’s match at Arthur Davies Stadium was no different.
Despite the missed opportunities, Siwale refused to use them as an excuse but acknowledged that clinical finishing could have changed the outcome.

“This game, like many others, I know it’s not an excuse. We created some scoring opportunities, and if we had taken advantage of them, it could have been a different story.”
