Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Zeddy Saileti is not disappointed despite a 1-0 defeat to Konkola Blades in the Charity Shield at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday.

Former Mufulira Wanderers striker Clive Biyeta scored the game’s only goal in the 24th minute, finishing clinically in a match where chances were scarce.

Speaking after the match, Saileti said the fixture had given his team valuable insight ahead of the new MTN Super League season.

“I’m not so disappointed because we’ve seen where we have to work on. It’s the composure in the final third. We had chances where we could have scored a goal or two,” Saileti told reporters.

Kansanshi enjoyed the better of the opportunities, particularly after the break, but were unable to find the equalizer.

“The boys played very well, especially in the second half. We had more chances than Konkola Blades, who only had one clear chance” he added.

The match marked Kansanshi Dynamos’ debut in the competition.

Saileti emphasized the importance of the outing in assessing his squad’s readiness.

“It was an important match for us. Our main objective was to check our match fitness and readiness for the season. We now have an idea of where to improve going forward. We played against a strong team, and this helps us see where we are“.
