Indeni Football Club head coach Tenant Chembo was left frustrated following a 3-0 home defeat to Nkana Football Club in a Week 11 Zambian Premier League fixture at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

The Oilo Boys have not won a single match in the 2024/25 league season, accumulating just two points from two draws.

The defeat has significantly diminished their chances of improving their performance following their promotion to the league.

Chembo expressed his disappointment at the team’s home loss in a post-game interview.

“I am disappointed with todays heavy home defeat“

Chembo believes that his side started well, especially in the first half, only to lose focus in the second half.

“I thought we had controlled the first half and the game overall, only to make critical errors towards the end of the second half. We didn’t defend well in the second half like we did in the first half. I think that’s an area where we lacked,” Chembo noted.

Idris Mbombo scored Nkana’s opener in the 7th minute | Club FB page.

“When you concede, you always chase the games. That’s just the problem. When you concede, you always chase the game. You have to score 1. You have to score 2 to win the game.”

Chembo expressed concern over the results after eleven games and mentioned his intention to focus on the players’ psychology to improve performance.

“A sense of concern, but we have got to do with what we have, and we just have to motivate the boys. A win will motivate everything; it will be a turning point that will motivate and change everything, the whole complexion. We just need a win,” he concluded.
