Power Dynamos midfielder Owen Tembo has described the current campaign as his best season in the yellow colours of the 2024-25 MTN Super League champions.

Tembo, who joined Aba Yellow three years ago, has now won two league titles with the club and is set to return to the CAF Champions League next season. He believes his performances this season are enough to earn him a place in the national team for future assignments.

In an interview with BolaNews, Tembo expressed his satisfaction with his contributions this season.

“I have played three seasons at Power Dynamos, but I believe this is my best season. I have enjoyed playing every game, giving it all for the badge,” Tembo said.

He added, “I believe it’s everyone’s dream as a footballer to win medals; I have won two league titles in my 3 years at Dynamos and am blessed to be part of this story. Most of all, I can only give God alone the praise.”

Tembo was part of Zambia’s squad at the 2024 COSAFA Cup under coach Chisi Mbewe. Looking ahead, he remains hopeful for another national team call-up.

“I believe it’s everyone’s dream as a footballer to represent the nation, and again I am one guy who believes so much in God. I am a believer, and I trust God’s timing. If I make it, we praise God; if I don’t, we praise God again. I’m focused and ready for what’s coming,” he stated.

Tembo has been a key figure in Power Dynamos’ midfield this season, earning praise for his ability to win duels and deliver pinpoint passes in attack. He scored two goals during the campaign, further underlining his importance to the team.

With Power Dynamos preparing for their return to the CAF Champions League, Tembo believes the experience gained from their previous campaign will be vital.

“Yes, I had my first experience in the CAF Champions League, and we know where we left off. We are aiming to do more,” he said.

Despite his contract expiring at the end of the season, Tembo remains focused on finishing strong with the Kitwe-based club.
