Zesco United defeated Mutondo Stars 2-0 on Saturday, regaining their position atop the MTN/FAZ Super League.

Since the current season began, teams (Power Dynamos, Kabwe Warriors) have held the top spot, indicating the league’s competitive competitiveness.

After going three games without a victory, the victory was a much-needed return to form for the Ndola giants. Coach Emmanuel Siwale, the caretaker, was happy with his team’s effort and the three points.

“Happy that we have taken the maximum points; that was our target. Going on top, we have been there, and we just want to continue working and push as far as we can,” he said.

Zesco now has 30 points after the win, one more than Power Dynamos, who drew 1-1 away at Green Eagles.

“We just have to do what we have done today. I am very happy with how they conducted themselves just from the word go,” he added.

“It’s competitive, and our league is always competitive. So, it depends on how you handle yourselves. Like us, we just have to concentrate on ourselves to continue working hard and get more wins,” Siwale concluded.
