2023–24 Zambian Super League title contenders Red Arrows are one point away from winning their third league championship with four matches left in the competition.
In their Week 30 fixture, which took place on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium, Arrows defeated Kansanshi Dynamos 1-0 to get closer.
Chisi Mbewe’s team defeated the Mabanga Boys, who have little chance of surviving, thanks to a goal from Ackim Mumba in the 20th minute.
Elsewhere in another match, Nkana Football Club in Kitwe held nine-time league champions Zesco United, who are second on the log, to a goalless draw. Following their 0-0 all-home tie with Mutondo Stars the previous week, this was their second consecutive draw.
Zesco United and Red Arrows have played the same number of games, however Zesco United has 52 points and Red Arrows has 64 points with a significant goal difference of 38 against 13. Zesco, will accumulate 64 points if they win all four of their remaining games, which is a doubtful scenario.
The George Lwandamina charges will need to produce high-scoring performances to close the 25-goal gap between the two sides.
In the event of a tie or victory over Kabwe Warriors, Arrows will be the 2023–24 Super League champions.
