Power Dynamos goalkeeper Willard Mwanza is targeting the 2025–26 Golden Glove award for the second consecutive season.
Mwanza had a tremendous campaign last season, clinching the 2025 Golden Glove, edging out competitors Toaster Nsabata and Lukas Mainza.
The shot-stopper kept 11 clean sheets while conceding just eight goals in 19 matches, a brilliant performance that helped Power Dynamos claim their eighth league title and secure CAF Champions League football.
The former Konkola Blades goalkeeper has fallen down the pecking order this season, with Lawrence Mulenga starting ahead of him. He made his first appearance of the campaign against FC Muza last weekend, keeping a clean sheet on his return to action.
Speaking exclusively to BolaNews, Mwanza expressed optimism about the season ahead: “The season looks good, we will keep pushing. I will fight and put in my best. Otherwise, so far so good, everything is going on well. I am forever grateful to my fans who support and genuinely rally behind me. I will not disappoint them,” he said.
On his Golden Glove ambitions, Mwanza added: “Winning the Golden Glove award again this season is very much possible. I am putting in everything I can to make sure that I have a good season. With hard work and determination I can achieve my set targets,” he added.
Power Dynamos will host Red Arrows at Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday, with Mwanza expected to start in goal for the defending champions.
