Nkwazi coach Keegan Phiri is getting used to the life of being a head coach and adapting to the pressures that come with it.
At the start of the season, Phiri, who served as an assistant at the club for close to a decade, replaced Aggrey Chiyangi, who moved to Green Buffaloes.
Phiri in his new role, has recorded a loss and a draw in his first two matches.
At the weekend, he saw his team come from a goal down to draw 1–1 against Nkana at a near-packed Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
He said the life of a head coach has its own responsibilities.
He said in an interview. “I have been building myself up and preparing for this time. I hope and pray to make the most of it. Even in the few times I have coached before, I have seen myself developing.”

While he admits the demands of the job are significant, Phiri said he feels encouraged by the backing he has received from the club and its sponsors.
“They have trust in me; they know what I can do. So the pressure is there”.
