Power Dynamos are aiming for a fifth consecutive win as they host Mutondo Stars this Sunday at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Head coach Oswald Mutapa has stressed the need for consistency from his players as they face a challenging opponent.

“We have to show more consistence; we have gone four games, can we go another five?” Mutapa said in a pre-match interview.

He pointed out the importance of using their home advantage effectively, calling for a strong defensive approach as well.

“We are playing home, we just need to take our chances, defend very well, and take our chances,” he added.

Power Dynamos endured a difficult start to the season, going five games without a win. They had four consecutive draws before suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Green Buffaloes.

However, they have since turned their season around with four consecutive wins.

“Players themselves, they need to come to the party. We went four games without a win – let me say five, where we even lost to Buffaloes after a win against Atletico. We just need to show consistence, always wanting to win,” Mutapa stated.

Mutondo Stars present a unique challenge, having lost just once in their last nine games, winning four of their last six before a 1-1 draw against Zanaco and a 4-1 defeat to Green Buffaloes.

Austin Muwowo ( left) challenged by a Lumwana Radiants players during a Week 10 fixture in Solwezi.

“We always create chances in the first half; are we able to utilise chances? It won’t be an easy game, another tough game against Mutondo. They have shown so far it’s an in-form team,” said Mutapa.

Currently second in the league behind leaders Zesco United, Mutapa has encouraged his players to continue fighting hard if they aim to challenge for the title.

“Very important if we are to challenge for the league, we have to show consistence. We are playing home, fans expect us to win. We understand it will [be a] tough game, but we need players to come to the party,” he concluded.
