Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba says his team is looking to get early goals and unsettle Mufulira Wanderers when the two teams meet in a Super League match at Sunset Stadium on Saturday.
The Bankers are not safe from relegation but a win against the nine – time league champions could boost Numba’s quest of ensuring the team survives depending on other results.
Numba is under the illusion that the match will be easy.
“We expect a tough game, playing Mufulira Wanderers. It is a team that is playing well this season that is why they are in the middle of the log. We expect them to express themselves but we have to make sure that we deny them from playing to their strengths,” He said.
Zanaco are 14th on the log with 36 points, at par with Atletico Lusaka who occupy the first relegation place.
Wanderers have secured safety having managed to collect 45 points so far.
“We have to grab the bull by the horn by trying to get early goals so that we can unsettle Mufulira Wanderers,” Numba said.
Meanwhile, the Zambia Premier League has indefinitely suspended the final fixtures in the National Division One pending the disposal of all disciplinary cases.
“This decision has been made to facilitate the completion of judicial reviews related to ongoing cases that may influence promotion and relegation outcomes in the National League. The integrity and fairness of the competition remain our top priority,” ZPL head of communication Christina Zulu said in a statement.
