The FAZ Disciplinary Committee has confirmed that they have handed Nkana FC the season-long ban due to crowd trouble during the Week 31 MTN Super League match at the Arthur Davies Stadium against Power Dynamos.

Nkana fans are said to have assaulted an assistant referee and police officer.

“Nkana Stadium is banned from hosting any match sanctioned by FAZ for the duration of 2023-2024 season, “FAZ confirmed. “Furthermore, all matches sanctioned by FAZ against Nkana are to be played a minimum of 60 kilometres away from Nkana Stadium.”

The 13-time Zambian champions have also been fined K50,000 for a violent incident. An identified fan is said to have stoned Green Eagles striker Derrick Bulaya at Chilata on April 26.

Meanwhile, the Kitwe-based club will have to play their matches at least 60 kilometers away from home next season.

FAZ says Nkana have the right to appeal the decision within 72 hours.
