Nkana Football Club has, with immediate effect, cracked the whip by banning four individuals from attending the club’s home and away matches for the 2023–24 season.

The club’s management states that the decision has been taken in collaboration with the club’s fan structure so as to restore order, curb hooliganism, and enhance the reputation of its supporters.

“The club has taken the immediate decision to ban these four individuals from attending all Nkana games, both home and away,” reads the circular.

“With the aim of restoring order within our fan base and enhancing the reputation of our supporters, the club is taking proactive measures to address hooliganism during Nkana games.”

The club states that the four individuals were identified as the main instigators of hooliganism following careful considerations.

The individuals have been identified as Mwamba Mbuyu, also known as “Leo Kalampa”, Sandra Musonda, Pephious Mwamba, and Susan Njovu.

Nkana reveals they facing financial burdens

“As a club, we will not tolerate any individuals posing as Nkana fans while engaging in criminal activities,” reads part of the circular. “Kalampa’ has urged its supporters to be proactive and report the presence of the affected fans to the security personnel.”

“If you happen to spot any of them at a stadium hosting Nkana games, we kindly request that you promptly report their presence to the security personnel, who include the police and club security,” the club stated.

The club said it is currently facing significant financial burdens and other consequences due to the necessity of playing away from their Nkana Stadium as a result of unruly behavior by some fans.

Nkana, who are at the bottom of the league table with one point, were banned from hosting Super League matches at Nkana Stadium by the Football Association of Zambia’s (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee due to the club’s fans’ unruly acts at both home and away matches last season.
