Power Dynamos coach Oswald Mutapa appeared to take a dig at rivals Nkana, suggesting they must raise their performance in every fixture, not only in the derby, following the sides’ 1-all draw in the Kitwe showdown.
Mutapa’s hopes for his first-ever derby win since he joined Power failed to materialise, as all his side could achieve was coming from behind to draw 1-all.
Lazarus Kambole scored in the 68th minute for Nkana, but Malawian Chifundo Mphasi managed to salvage a point for Power with a 77th-minute goal.
He was satisfied with a point but was less impressed that Nkana only seemed to turn up during the derby.
“Nkana played very well. Hopefully, they can continue playing like that. Nkana is big. We want them in the Super League.
“They need to grind results, not just in a derby, because others are waiting. It is a difficult league, so they have to build on what they have gotten from this one,” Mutapa said.
His opposite number, Mwenya Chipepo, promised good football going forward.
“This was a derby. It is different from other fixtures. Starting from last week, we played well, and going forward, I think you will see improvement,” Chipepo said.
