Three games were played in the Copperbelt town of Kitwe and the capital city of Lusaka as the Zambian Premier League’s Week Twelve fixtures concluded on Sunday.
With new coach Mwenya Chipepo in charge, 13-time Zambian champions Nkana recorded their fourth consecutive league win at Nkana Stadium.
Chipepo faced his immediate previous team, Forest Rangers, and Kalampa had a 2-0 victory. With 19 points, Kalampa is now in sixth place in the standings.
Patrick Gondwe and Congolese striker, Idris Mbombo scored for the home side in the 64th and 82nd minute to collect full points.
Forest Rangers, now 14th, and need to avoid dropping further into the D-zone.
At Arthur Davies Stadium, FC MUZA silenced Mutondo Stars’ by a goal to nil.
Andrew Phiri scored the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute. FC MUZA held on to that score til the final whistle.
MUZA climb into the top half of the table, sitting 9th, while Mutondo has now endured their third consecutive defeats. Mutondo are now placed 11th on the table.
At Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium, Atletico Lusaka and Mighty Mufulira Wanderers, shared spoils as their enounter ended goalless draw.
Atletico, are now 12th while Wanderers, remain rooted in 15th position on the league table.
