With nothing much left to fight for before the end of the season, newly appointed Napsa Stars chief executive officer Charles Chakatazya has set a top-half finish as the target for the current campaign.
On Monday, Chakatazya was unveiled as Npasa boss, filling the void that was left by Ponga Liwewe months ago.
Chakatazya moves to Lusaka after mutually agreeing to separate with five-time Super League champions Kabwe Warriors.
He told the club media that joining Napsa was an exciting opportunity for him.
“This is an interesting opportunity for me, I am happy to be here and hoping to contribute to positively Napsa Stars,” he said.
Chakatazya was clear about his target for the rest of the season.
Napsa are 10th on the log with 34 points. With nine games left, Napsa is still mathematically in the title race, but Chakatazya’s focus is elsewhere.
“I am joining towards the end of the season, so the most important thing I wish to see is the team surviving relegation and then fighting for honours next season,” he said.
